I can't thank the committee enough for the hard work you put into arranging such a fun weekend for all of us. The events seemed to go like clockwork with each of you doing your job to make it a success. Our turnout was quite impressive considering our busy lives, age and distance. So glad that so many made the effort to join in. I'm hoping that many of us can keep in touch with fond memories of the great high school we attended! Love to all!!

I totally agree about  the wonderful 2 day event that our class got to enjoy this  past weekend. It was a blast. I loved reminiscing with those i already keep in touch with and those I had lost in the last years. I still can't believe it took such a short time to put this all together. The committee did a fantastic job. Thanks to everyone who ran it and those that took the time to come to it from all over the globe. 😊Thanks

To the class of 1964 : We had a great weekend and it was fabulous to see all our classmates!  We planned a weekend that we will be talking a bout this for a long time . Truly the committee members worked hard to ensure we had a Quality Weekend for all that attended. I want to thank all of you that came and participated. You guys are the Best ! As many of you , ETHS has been very good to many of us ! I know Many of you could not attend this year's reunion for various reasons. I was looking forward to putting eyes on Lincoln Krochmal because we didn't know each other in high school but he was a great friend of my nursery school classmate and football teammate Roger Ward who recently last year made his transition. Lincoln is a great friend of Jack Racove who spent time with Connie Murray Taylor and me at Hackneys. I had a great time catching up with Preston, Jerri,Ted Downing,Sherri, David Alexander, Ricky Searles and Fred Wolfman Vanover. My list is too big to cover  with all the classmates but Judy Cross deserves a special mention for her efforts to be part of our celebration. To my friend Russell Roberts thanks for coming and being the Star ⭐️ you are ! Most important to Helga who supported are class as the Queen that she is !!!!

Saturday night we sang the songs and did all the things we needed to do!

Until the next time we meet again.......

ETHS We Will Fight For You ....!!!!!

Such a fun weekend!  So glad I got to visit with so many who came, but sorry I didn't get to visit with more.  And missed those who couldn't come.  Kudos to the committee who made it all happen - great planning!  All of us singing the fight song at Hackney's made me smile and laugh - I felt like I was 17 instead of 77.  May we all stay as safe and healthy as possible!

How could 60 years have passed so quickly?  When I think of my parents at a similar age, they seemed aged -- and yet, we came together as if no time had passed, with fresh memories of childhood experiences and, especially, warm friendships.  Particularly memorable for me were those from College Hill elementery and from Skiles who I'd lost track of -- but so many others, as well.

Thank you to our generous classmates who made this weekend possible.  Your volunteer spirits shined.  This would not have been possible without you.  Smiles and hugs of appreciation are headed your way.

To all my ETHS classmates, I am so sorry I could not attend this latest reunion due to health issues. From all the comments from attendees, it is clear that the amazing spirit in this class endures which  makes our class so special, truly wonderful to feel and makes me so proud to be a member of this special class. Missed seeing everyone and thanks to Rommie for his mention of me in his note. the organizing committes surely did an outstanding job, no surprise. great to see  this commitment to excellence endures.

best wishes to all to be well and be safe and go Kits!

Sounds like the 60th reunion was amazing, as usual.  I regret that I was unable to attend.  I am reovering from a fracture 4th lumbar vertebrae and a bum knee that likes to buckle without any warning.  So,mobility is an issue.

From all of the comments by those who attended it sounds like the 60th was wonderful.  I'm sorry I couldn't attend.  I had two large art events that weekend and the following week so it was impossibled.  Glad everyone had a wonderful time!

I posted photos on my site of the art events just for fun.

I had a great time at the class of '64 Reunion where I reconnected with old friends and acquaintances as far back as Dewey Elementary School.  Because of a former classmate I was able to contact one of our  classmates who was unable to attend (we hadn't spoken since the 90's).  Kudos to all those who worked hard to make this a momentous event that I know I'll always cherish.

perfectly planned reunion and the photos are great -- I had to tell the photographer "no" and cover my face -- not only because of my secret agent work but I need a lot of image editing -- even in my youth I did ! Not all of us are as photogenic as Helga and Tom (and also great smart human beings) !!

I am currently in Israel for 6 weeks (my oldest grandson just got married last Monday). At some point I read that Jonathan Licht had moved to Israel.  If you have contact info for him, please pass it on (via this site or to leoschlos@gmail.com)  and I will see if I can visit with him. And yes, there are occasional missiles where I am in the Golan Heights. There are shelters everywhere, sirens sound and you head to the shelter.

I'm sending my prayers for you too, Leo!  Was great to see you Friday & Saturday nights, and thanks for helping me carry stuff to my car!  I copied your post & sent to Sarah, though she's now on the website & should be able to see your post directly like I did.

Be safe, & may G-d hold you & yours in the palm of G-d's hands!  Also, congratulations on your son's marriage.

I also enjoyed the reunion.  I spent a great deal of time just walking around Evanston.  I even stopped by Wade Street to see my former home.  A big thank you to the reunion committee who put all of the events together for us.

A Journey Into Yesterday

I think I’ve found my way

Into the past, into my yesterday.

But earth has come around

Many times, and I’ve found

My way, though it was bound

To be filled with the memories that play

Upon the stages my

Life has performed on, as the world that I

Live in turned from each past

Moment. It seemed so fast,

But I am here at last.

In the now. I’m not asking how or why

I managed to get here.

Because that would be bad luck. And I fear

The winds of fortune might

Change direction at night,

And blow what was so right

Away and I’d suddenly disappear.

Though just yesterday,

I was with others, formed from the same clay.

And I remembered when

Our times had crossed and then

I said, “We meet again.”

Because we managed to come the same way.

From a past, we had shared,

To this future, we reached, because we dared

To be who we were and

Who we are. So, we stand

Together in a land

That’s in the future with others we cared

For, as we made our way

Across the stages of time in the play

That we have created

On words of life fated,

Till the words, we stated

Became the journey of our yesterday.

New Trier has challenged the ETHS Foundation to a school spirit showdown -- to see which school could achieve the most donations to its foundation by October 4.  In light of our positive glorious reunion, ETHS' 100th anniversary, and how much we each can attribute our success to experiences at ETHS, let's make sure ETHS once again trounces New Trier.  Here's a link to make your contribution easy:

In case anyone who lives in a hurricane affected areas, sees this, if your home is threatened with flooding, hide important papers in your dishwasher or laundry machine. Dishwashers have strong seals to keep water in- and out. This came from a Facebook post from a friend, a 1965 ETHS alumna.
