THINKING ABOUT A 60th REUNION

For those of you who frequent this Message Forum but may not be regularly checking the Discussion Forums, I want to make you aware of a current effort to determine whether the Class of '64 should have a 60th Reunion.  Don Hall is working with Bob Reece and Rommie Taylor to assesss the level of interest and the types of activities that should be included in a 60th Reunion.  In order to see what they are doing and to consider assisting in their efforts, do the following:

  1. Go to the Discussion Forums on this website
  2. Click on "Class of '64 60th Reunion"
  3. Click on "Planning a 60th Reunion"
  4. Scroll down to Don Hall's post dated Feb 24, 2024.

I am interested in working on the 60th

reunion and will follow your instructions,

Fred. Thanks.

I will probably do it on my laptop as it's easier for

me to maneuver around the website that way.

Hi Everyone,

I am simply curious how many of us have been enjoying the somewhat new sport of Pickle Ball?  I've been playing about 6-7 years now and simply love it!  When I first started playing it was still somewhat an "old people's sport" around here and now we have to arrive really early to get space at the outdoor courts!  Younger people who all seem to work from home show up in droves for their party time - complete with boom boxes, coolers, dogs, frisbees, etc.  It's fun to see, but I hate getting up at 6 or 7am to play!

At any rate, I thought it would be fun to see who all is involved in Pball and where you live.  Who knows, maybe those of us traveling around the country would have more incentive to look one another up?  Are YOU a player?

Unrelated to the current themes . . . does anyone happen to remember a science (biology?) teacher named something like Mr. Stuckey or Mr. Aulie?

Alice Rosengard

Roseanne,

Yes, I remember Mr. Stuckey. He's not in our senior yearbook, but I remember what he looked like: around 5' 9", sort of gangly, with graying hair. I took biology as a summer school class, and I don't recall who the teacher was, but it might well have been him.

Hi there,

I remember him too, but was thinking he was at Skiles Jr. High, is that possible?

Thomas Starck

I remember Mr. Stucky from highschool. I think I had him for chemistry. My recollection is a bit faded, but he reminded me of Mr Peepers from TV.

Paula Massey

I had a Mr. Aulie for Biology and do remember him.

Arlene Avery (Burke)

I remember Mr. Stucky.  He was my science teacher at Skiles.  He did not teach at ETHS.  Somebody (I think a boy named Howie) put a tack in his chair almost every day and he sat on it every day.  It would be hanging from the back of his suit coat as he faced the chalkboard, lecturing.  He was kind of a goof, not an especially good teacher.

Our classmate, Marty Campbell, asked me to post the following message from Marty:

I'm anxiously awaiting a March 27th 4-hour medical procedure to determine whether I have progressive dementia.

It may be difficult for me to communicate in the future; so, while I still can, I want to send a great big LOVE & THANK YOU for ETHS and everybody in it.

Sorry to be so melodramatic, but it's kinda hard to speak.

Judith Sheahan (Lindgren)

Best of luck to you, Marty. I'm sure our classmates join me in sending you warm hugs and good wishes. Waiting for information about health issues adds to one's anxiety and I hope you find comfort in knowing we care about you.

Marty, I pray everything goes well for you. I have fond memories of our friendship. Your mother and mine were best friends.I loved our conversation at a previous ETHS reunion when you sat at my dinner table. Hugs to you, my dear friend

It seems like every conversation in our age group ends in an organ recital.

Sherrie Igoe (Dembrowski)

Preston said it well, we are turning into a full-blown orchestra! We all likely have different health issues going on...but let's keep smiling, hope for the best and recognize the many blessings we have experienced since we graduated in 1964! Prayers for us all and our country!
