Hey, Ho, The Wind And The Snow
When that I was and a little tiny boy,
With hey, ho, the wind and the rain,
A foolish thing was but a toy,
For the rain it raineth every day.
Feste in Twelfth Night by W. Shakespeare
When Monday came, I thought, I’d try
To meet with class mates from long ago,
But the wind was fierce and howled so I,
With a hey, ho, the wind and the snow,
I must admit, I was not too brave,
With a hey, ho, the wind and the snow,
It scared me so I stayed in my cave,
Said sorry, nasty weather, you know,
I’ll stay inside and avoid the cold,
With a hey, ho, the wind and the snow,
I like my comforts, now that I’m old,
I’ll stay warm and let the wind go blow,
I’ll try again the next meeting – right?
With a hey, ho, the wind and the snow,
Hope there won’t be a blizzard that night,
“Rain, it raineth every day,” you know,
But snow comes and goes, A Winter’s Tale,
Another play, next time for sure, I’ll go,
Here’s hoping that there won’t be a gale,
With a hey, ho, the wind and the snow,
And with a hey, ho, hey-nonny-no,
Another play and another night,
I’ll keep trying, till I get it right.
