I too, remember Merle. He was such a fun loving all- around great guy! We rode the bus together in the morning and he was always sprinting to the bus stop on Grant Street. Remembering his laugh and love for life! Many kind and caring thoughts to his family. We both ended up being teachers and I am sure he made quite a difference and was a great influence on many of his students over the years. He always made me smile. I remember him at an 8th grade party and we were sitting on the floor/ all the guests an he missed a coconut toss and he suffered a sizeable goose- egg on his head! What a memory! RIP Merle- you will be missed!

How I remember you- especially in history class. I have a great visual memory and as I write this I can see us seated near each other and absorbing what we could cram in our brains at that moment. I too, do remember all my teaching days and how my life was so shaped by ETHS.
Wonderful comments about her and like all comments. Yes knew her for so long myself. Many times.. through my life! She was a fabulous and happy- go - lucky type person! So sorry we have yet lost another. Nice to know how much people care. Bruce Boyer- great comments about your knowing her so long. Thing she and I were at College Hill together and as we moved in Evanston we crossed paths again.
