I've held many jobs which began in September of 1964 which began my own carrer in retail sales) which have included being a stockwoman (fall of 1964 at what had been the Field's store at Old Orchard, S&H Green Stamps redemption clerk (at the no longer in existance Weibotlts store in downtown Evanston) November 1964-March 1965, part time salesperson for a department store that no longer exists in downtown Chicago from May of 1965 until September 14, 1965 when I was hired by Carson's (their store at Edens Plaza in Wilmette) and had worked there for 39 years as a full time saleswoman until I was pushehd into an "early retirement" on March 25, 2004 (note: #1 in years of employment at this job when I'd "retired" too!), cashier in May of 2005-June of the same year for another department store, part time cashier at a now closed Office Depot store from March of 2005 until June of 2007(this was when this store had closed) which had been in Skokie (at Fashion Square of Skokie), back working as a part time salesperson at Catherine's Plus Sizes (also at Fashion
Square of Skokie) in June of 2006 until my full retirement in July of 2009 due to personal health issues; still working at Catherine's as a "model" when they have fashion shows at the start of each new fashion season.

School Story

The best memory I have of my years at ETHS was being able to work once in a while in the professinal (teachers) libirary room as I then got to know the many teachers at ETHS a lot better than just taking a school class from them as I was always found (starting in my own freshma year) as I'd be asked to help with the "freshmen" orientation period to the library) working in the main library over my study hall periods as well as after my classes had ended thruout my years there when I wasn't out of the school in my senior year working part time jobs.

I didn't know Carol well in high school but I vividly remember her at our 25th reunion showing me a picture of her sister( Kathleen Lloyd) an accomplished actress who was part of the Magnum PI cast. She was so proud . I was happy to see she had a nice life after ETHS.

The class of 1964 lost very caring classmate with the passing of Carol Simon Kohn. I remember her from Skiles Jr. high. I always greeted her with a caring attitude. She had her challenges, as we all do; but she was always very polite and friendly. I hope she has peace and is in a better place. May God bless her and keep her in his kingdom. Each of us should strive to live and enjoy each day. Also, be thankful for all that we have and all that we have accomplished.
