I found a reference to an obituary for a Richard j. Readeker for a car accident in 1966 - he was 20 at the time. The accident was in Racine Wi and the obituary was in the December 1966 issue of the Evanston Review. The timing seems to match, but the name isn't exactly right.
How sad that Ward died so very young! I married a man who was born in Wisconsin....I recall John mentioning that it was legal to drink beer in that state at age 18. In fact they had "beer bars". don't know if that was Ward's case but my husband said that everybody that age went...

Ward was driving back to school. He was hit and killed head on by a drunk driver. Ward had not been drinking. I think the drunk driver died too.
