Ed Breitbart was killed in a car accident, along with his younger brother (and only sibling) Jim. I remember reading about it but I don't recall many details. I believe the year was 1968 or 1969. Ed had graduated from (I think) the University of Denver and was doing graduate work there. Jim had entered (I think) the University of Arizona. The accident occurred as they were driving between the two schools. Their father was a co-owner of the McDonald's on Howard Avenue between Western and Ridge, where I had my very first part-time job.
My recollection of Edward's untimely passing is much the same as my former poker-playing buddy, Jordan's.
And, coincidentally, I also worked at Edward's father's McDonalds on Howard Street, during the winter after the Dairy Queen that I worked at (Howard & Ridge) had closed for the winter. Regrettably, that was the only job I was ever fired from...for eating too many French Fries while on the job.
