I remember Barry.

But I don't remember what our connection was.

Sorry to hear he has passed away.

He has the same birthday as me, though he was a year older.

These notices are all difficult. This is one of the toughtest ones for me. Barry and I were classmates at Dawes School since 3rd grade and thru Nichols and ETHS. We were as seniors part of a car pool with Sherry Huff, Mimi Been,  Larry Schwimmer and Bernie Krule. I would say we were  good friends thru out the years and now of course wish I had talked more frequesntly. My late son and I visited Barry in Albuqurque, NM when we were looking for a private school there for my son. Had a great time and visit with Barry at the time having a very good talk with my son regarding my sons issues with POT at the time. That was when my son Brett was about 15. Even thru Brett's 30's he would occasionaly ask about Barry! And Barry would always ask me about Brett. The last time I spoke with Barry was in April last year after Brett's suicide! Barry was one of the sweetes kindest soft spoken people you could ever know. Unfortunatly I had no idea he had health issues or what had happened. RIP my friend. You are missed!!!!!!

That's a beautiful tribute and memory, Jay!  Sounds like Barry was a good friend to both you and your son.  I personally don't remember him, but he sounds like a wonderful man!  No wonder it's a difficult death notice for you.

I did not know Barry but we both went to Dawes Elementary School. He was on the south side of Oakton so he must have gone to Nicholas. I attended Skyler. It is sad to read about our classmates dying. "another one bit the dust" (Queen). The obituary was very nice.

On 10/18 my rabbi's first daughter got married at a shul in Aventura. About 300 Chabad folks came. Exhausting but beautiful. One woman at my table tested + for Covid. Oh. I went down to Fort Lauderhill and got tested with the 15 minute test. I was negative. The traffic was awful. Got home and took a nap.

Today I told my rebbitzin that would not be able to be with their family for Friday nights or the holidays. They do not believe that they need the vaccine.
