Emil was a neighbor of mine.  His family lived in a brick bungalow on Ashland which was similar to our house.  Our house faced Dempster but our driveway emptied onto Ashland.  As his father had a tuckpointing company, their family home was always neatly and beautifully bricked.  Sometimes, he would amble over and shoot baskets as we had a hoop on our garage.  Once, we went to the movies together at the "Varsity" theatre.  At the time I knew him, he went to St. George - the Catholic boys High School.

By chance, I was in Evanston selling my father's home at the time of Emil's passing sometime in June of 2007.  I heard about his death from the neighbors.

Here is his obituary.

Emil was my first love. We were together part of sophomore year, and junior and senior year. I have wonderful memories of our time together. So glad that I got to talk to him and Pat at our last reunion. He will be missed.

I remember Emil and his brother, Bob, as being great dancers at Plant Room.
