Still think about my friend, we grew up a block apart.

Max and I became fairly close beginning in our sopomore year when he slammed me up against a locker because I had made an inadvertently racist comment.  I learned so much about the subtle forms of bigotry that permeated our society from Max.  (Our initial confrontation was about Band-Aids, of all things, and how I had referred to them as "flesh-colored.")  I was so much looking forward to seeing Max at the 25th reunion, but he was killed shortly before that event.  I'm pretty sure that he was a DEA agent at the time.

RIP, Max, and thanks!  I'll certainly think about you at the 50th; I'm sure that you live on in a lot of people's memories.

Does anyone know if Max went to Haven Jr. High? I'll never forget him or someone else sitting next to me as we were preparing for graduation from Haven. This person was talking about how he was looking forward to getting his summer tan. I must have looked at him strangely and he laughed and said: "Yes we can get tan too." However, after reading Jack's comment I kind of doubt it was the same person?
