Evanston Twp High School
Class Of 1964

TO BE HELD SEPTEMBER 13 & 14, 2019

It's now official.  Our 55th Class Reunion will be Friday, September 13, and Saturday, September 14, 2019.  We are alerting you so you can SAVE THE DATE.  We will be lunching at Hackney's on Lake on Friday, "Meeting and Greeting" on Friday Night, and enjoying our customary Dinner on Saturday night.  We also are exploring something for Saturday day and possibly Sunday brunch, as well.  Details will follow as the committee gets everything more organized.

As we have done for the last four reunions, we also are asking our classmates to help us subsidize the reunion.  In an effort to keep our event fees affordable, we are asking for donations of whatever size you can afford to give.  Donations, payable by check made out to "ETHS Class of 1964 Reunion," may be sent to (Reunion Treasurer) Fran O’Connell, 828 Michigan Ave, Evanston, IL 60202.  Whatever amount you are able to give will be appreciated.

Keep monitoring this website for future updates and more information.

One of the most critical steps in planning a high school reunion is the process of gathering classmate contact information.  If we can’t contact you, we can’t tell you about the reunion plans.  We are grateful for the many classmates who have already provided us with updated contact information.  For those of you who haven't provided current contact info and would like to do so by using this website, please note the following guidelines:

  • Please go to "Member Functions" on the left side of this page.
  • Click on "Edit Contact  Info", and make sure everything listed is current.  Change info as necessary.
  • Once all of your contact info is correct, press "Save Changes".
  • If you have any questions, please contact our Webmaster, Fred Brostoff, at

For your viewing enjoyment, here are a few ETHS memories:

Also, we've posted some memorable 1960s songs/videos on the "Class of '64 Photo Galleries" page.  If you have a favorite 60's song or video that you'd like to see posted, send your request to the Website Administrator.

IMPORTANT:  Your participation is necessary in creating a successful high school website. At this time, we’re asking you to participate by creating your online CLASSMATE PROFILE (see "Edit Profile" on the menu board at left) and spread the word by referring a classmate or two to our website. Questions, comments, or problems? Use the "Contact Us" link on the upper left side of any page to send an e-mail to our Website Administrator.

Three members of the Class of 1964 have been named ETHS Distinguished Alumni Award winners. This fall, Bob Reece joined Fred Geisler (in 2004—Neurosurgeon, pioneer in spinal-cord repair and spinal surgery) and Jack Rakove (in 2015—Pulitzer Prize-winning author, constitutional law/American history expert) as members of this illustrious group of ETHS alumni.

Robert Reece is a semi-retired businessman and a community leader in the Evanston area. Bob began his professional career with companies like Xerox, Hewlett Packard, and Dunn and Bradstreet. After successfully negotiating his way through major corporations, Bob founded and led Reece Insurance and Financial Services in Evanston. Working closely with his wife, Pat Cherry Reece ’62, Bob has been a fixture in the community and is well known and regarded by all. He recently won the “Spirit of Evanston Award” which is only one more honor in a list far too lengthy to repeat. Bob has been a key leader in groups ranging from the Warren Cherry Scholarship Fund, FAAM, the Justin Wynn Foundation, and was the first African American President of the McGaw YMCA.
