Survey: 55th Reunion Suggestions

Your Reunion Committee met on October 7th to consider whether to hold another Class of '64 reunion, reunion location and reunion events.  Based on previous questionnaire comments and committee discussions, the committee reached agreement on the following:

  • We should hold a 55th Reunion in 2019, with a focus on providing a casual environment that will enable classmates to relax and spend time with each other...renewing friendships and building new ones. 
  • No dancing, no DJ, no sitdown dinner, no country club.  Costs kept to a minimum.
  • The reunion events should be located in or near Evanston (e.g., restaurants, hotels, possibly Northwestern University sites)
  • A two-day reunion, Friday / Saturday.  (Although the number of 55th Reunion events should be downsized from the 50th Reunion, we need to have sufficient events to encourage out-of-towners to attend.)
  • Either September 13 / 14 or 20 / 21, 2019, depending on venue availability.
  • Main events would be:
    • Friday night - Meet & Greet (informal, with drinks & appetizers) 
    • Saturday daytime - Tour of ETHS, tour of Botanic Garden, tour of Evanston, or other local activity
    • Saturday night - Cocktail hour / buffet dinner.
    • Side events - If classmates would like to hold side events (e.g., lunch at Hackney's or an elementary school gathering or a Sunday brunch), we will help you disseminate information about such an event, but the event will not be part of the official 55th Reunion package.

We would endeavor to have the ETHS Superintendent address us at one of the above Friday/Saturday events.
